Ms. Zhu Lei graduated from Tsinghua University with a Juris Master degree.

Ms. Zhu has joined Jingtian & Gongcheng as a partner in May, 2022. Prior to this, she worked 11 years in Sunshine Law Firm as a lawyer and partner (from 2016 to 2017, Ms. Zhu Worked in Project Finance Department in Chadbourne & Parke LLP, London office). She also worked 3 years in PowerChina Representative Office in Ukraine as PMO.

Ms.Zhu specializes in Investments and M&A, China Outbound Investment, Global Energy and Natural Resources, EPC/EPC+F Projects in Energy and Infrastructure Industry, and Carbon emission reduction trading. Ms.Zhu is mainly engaged in the whole development process of energy and infrastructure projects. She’s familiar with laws, regulations and business knowledge related to overseas investment and international EPC projects, as well as legal system of many countries and international practices. She has represented many large scale enterprises, including State Power Investment Corporation, China Energy Investment Corporation, Power Construction Corporation of China, China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd, China Three Gorges Corporation, China National Nuclear Corporation, China National Offshore Oil Corporation and their subsidiaries in overseas energy and infrastructure projects.

Ms.Zhu has provided a wide range of legal services for projects in Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Malaysia, Ukraine, Nigeria, Tanzania, South Africa, Argentina, Turkey, Malta, Australia, Kazakhstan and many other countries. Depending on rich experience in overseas energy investment and project development, financing, construction, and O&M services, as well as good communication and coordination skills in international transactions, Ms.Zhu has won clients’ favorable comments.

Several projects that Ms.Zhu participated in have won “Finance Deal of the Year” by IFLR, “Deals of the Year” by China Business Law Journal, been nominated “Energy & Resources Deal of the Year” by ALB and have been selected in Chinese Enterprises Overseas Sustainable Development Report.

Ms.Zhu was admitted to PRC bar in 2010.
