Mr. Daniel Lee graduated from Taiwan University in 1994 with an LLB degree and obtained an LL.M. degree from Taiwan University in 1997 and Harvard Law School in 2001.

Mr. Lee is qualified to practice Taiwan, New York and PRC laws and has worked in leading domestic and international law firms for many years: he started his legal profession in Lee & Li in Taipei as Taiwan lawyer from 1997 to 2000, and from 2001 to 2009, he practiced New York law at Hong Kong and Shanghai Offices of Davis Polk & Wardwell, Morrison & Foerster and Weil Gotshal & Manges.  Afterwards from late 2009 and before joining Jingtian & Gongcheng as partner in 2012, he joined Shanghai Leaven Attorneys-at-Law, an affiliate firm of Lee & Li, as counsel to practice PRC law.

Mr. Lee specializes in securities law and capital market, cross-border M & A, foreign direct investments and general corporate counseling, etc.  In the capital market area, Mr. Lee has represented numerous issuers based in Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China in their initial public offerings and international capital market bond and equity transactions, covering a wide range of industry sectors including banking and financial services, high-tech, energy, real estate and infrastructure.  Mr. Lee has also been acting as international or PRC legal counsel in several cross-border M & A projects in the PRC.

Mr. LEE was awarded as one of “2021 ALB China Top 15 M&A Lawyers” in March 2021 by Asian Legal Business, a magazine owned by Thomson Reuters.

Mr. Lee was qualified to practice Taiwan law in 1995, New York law in 2001 and PRC law in 2011.

Mr. Lee is a native mandarin speaker and is fluent in English.
